Last night I talked to Coach and told her about the wierd pain that was terrible and making me limp in my upper calf near the back of my knee. It's been just a twinge here and there since the 70.3, but nothing I worried about. Not even in Seattle as it was uncomfortable while walking and carrying a 30 pound child. It didn't hurt during the run yesterday but by the evening, I was limping.
She said no running for a few days. Swim for about 45 minutes to 1 hour, easy. Bike easy on the stationary bike with no heavy resistance the next day, and then we'll talk again. I took 3 advil and went to bed. And I slept. Like a log.
I woke up at one point 5 minutes before the alarm clock was set to go off. I opted to sleep for the next 5 minutes, which some how turned into an hour and 5 minutes. I only woke up because Mr. Darcy woke me to ask if I could take the girls to daycare. Forgetting that I had an 8 am conference call for a bar committee I was on, I said yes.
But my leg doesn't feel so bad this morning. I'll have to swim tomorrow and move the bike to Friday, but maybe that's not such a bad thing. I'm still coughing here and there, but it's so much better that it's amazing. And yet I wouldn't mind a bit more sleep. So I'm plotting to spend my lunch hour napping. We'll see how it goes. Hopefully it will give me patience to deal with Ladybug and her attitude of late.
This morning, Ladybug yelled at me (literally) and cried and threw herself on the floor because I cut her yogurt open (it was a squeezer) after she asked me to remove the top piece. Evidently, she didn't want me to open it but instead to just remove a little piece of plastic. I told her she had the option to eat the yogurt or go without yogurt and then said that Angelfish and I were going to get socks. And we walked away. Then Ladybug is screaming "Mommy" as though I've deserted her in a pit of vipers. I ask her why she is screaming and she tells me "You scared me." I ask how and she says she thought I left her. I told her that I said we were going to get socks. Then she lies to me and says that I yelled at her, which I decidedly did not do at any point. I told her that I did not and that I didn't appreciate her making up lies. Ladybug then starts yelling about how she didn't want me to open her yogurt. So I said, "fine, give it to me. I'll eat it." "No, it's mine!" I walked away with Angelfish and put her socks and shoes on. The next thing I know Ladybug is eating her yogurt and singing "Nanny, Nanny Boo Boo. Nanny, Nanny, Boo, Boo. You have zero." I'm sure she's picked this up at daycare because we certainly have not taught her this. I'm grateful it's not the version I know from childhood too - "Nanny Nanny Boo Boo Stick your Head in Doo Doo." That would be a bit too much for me this morning.
We get to school and the girls are angels. They walk in nicely, and we go to their classroom, they start to play with their friends outside. One of the teachers tells them (after they've given her a morning hug) that they make her day and then tells me how sweet they are and how at picture day yesterday they did wonderfully with the pictures and gave beautiful smiles and everything. I thought to myself, at least they are both sweet and wonderful for other people. They are sweet and wonderful at home, but they also will be so silly that you can't get them dressed or get something done (Angelfish) or be so demanding, yelling, and act as though nothing is good enough (Ladybug) to the point that your brain wants to scream. I guess it's as someone told me recently, they know how far they can push you but they don't know how far they can push their daycare teachers. Whatever it is, it's frustrating.
But good news on the potty front... Ladybug kept her underpants dry and clean. Bribery with a token for "good behavior" and a piece of gum will get you everywhere. Let's see if it works again today. Angelfish gets to benefit from this as well, since what rewards one rewards both in this house. It was cute too because yesterday when I got the girls from their different class rooms at daycare, the first thing Angelfish did after hugging me was to ask Ladybug if she kept her underpants dry and clean. When Ladybug said yes, Angelfish said "Yay! Ladybug! I did too!" So I had two cows (girls) chewing cud (sugar free bubble gum) loudly in my back seat on the way home. Happy as can be.
And we finished our witch and cats. We also decided we need to get some orange lights to put out behind them to make them glow a little. So we'll be off to Target at some point in the not too distant future. I just have to find a way to get through this evening's soccer practice first...
Maybe a nap at lunchtime...

Recovery Week is a Funny Thing
If you've done it right (which I evidently have), it seems that you should be tired during your recovery week and use the week to keep yourself moving but to still recover. This morning was another morning where I debated with myself. Do I get up and do the 25 mile bike, should I stay in bed and sleep, should I "cheat" a little and do the 25 miles at the gym on the stationary bike, or should I just stay in bed and sleep?
By the time I made my mind up, I had slept about 1/2 an hour later than I would normally, and Mr. Darcy hadn't gotten up either. I realized that if I didn't do the bike ride, I'd probably be annoyed with myself later on, so I figured that due to lateness of the hour and the fact that I wasn't feeling it, I would go to the gym and do 25 miles on the stationary bike.
For whatever reason (I think it may have to do with the fact that I don't have to worry about balancing or directing the bike and a difference in the type of resistance and body position), I am much faster on the stationary bike. So that was settled.
Angelfish and Ladybug were very excited about school today because they are having a party. Any party that involves cookies and juice boxes, and they're in. What they're not excited about is the reason for the party. It's their last full day with their current teachers. Angelfish loves her teachers, especially Ms. W. I asked her yesterday if she was excited about starting her new classroom and she said no. I asked her why and she said, "You know what I told Ms. W, Mommy? I told her I would go if she went with me." Having to explain that Ms. W. is going to have a new class full of students didn't go over well. She wants to be with Ms. W. Ladybug is feeling the same way about her teacher Ms. A. Ladybug told me "she loves Ms. A. so very much" and doesn't want to leave her. I have to say, in a strange sort of way, I'm thrilled about this.
No, I'm not looking forward to the calls from Mr. Darcy saying how awful it was in the morning to take the girls to their new rooms until they get used to it. But it makes me feel very good about the love, care and attention that they are getting at daycare. To become attached, they must be getting shown a lot of love and care. We've seen them always happy and loving with their teachers and seen that it's been returned when we were there, but it's good to know that it happens while we're not there too.
So, anyway, it was pretty easy to get the girls to the car this morning... aside from Ladybug who couldnt' get her hair just they way she thought her little boyfriend at school would like. Who knew this stuff would start at 3? Ladybug has already had 4 boyfriends in the space of a year, but this current one was the one she had before he went home for the summer (his Mom is a school teacher) and as soon as he came back, #3 was out the door. Evidently the feeling is mutual because they spent the afternoon holding hands and boyfriends' Mom even wanted them to be in the same class together, but Ladybug and he are set to be separated. He'll be in with Angelfish, but they'll still get to see one another on the playground. Heartbreak at 3!
Drama aside, proof of cookies for the party reviewed, off they went. And off I went to the gym. 25 miles in 1:06:30. 24 minutes faster than on the bike. If only that could happen on the real bike! But, I got the 25 miles done even if I did miss the wind in my hair and the sun shining down, not to mention the open road. Next time, I'll get on the bike.
Recovery week is a funny thing - want sleep, want workouts, want sleep, do not want workouts, want sleep!

The Weekend Report and a Monday
For whatever reason I now have the Lion King tune that goes "It's the morning report, it's the morning report" stuck in my head. It is official. I've watched too many animated features since my 3 year-olds have been born... primarily in the last 6 months as that's when I finally broke down to let them watch more than one 1/2 hour show. Hopefully I haven't ruined their brains.
Anywho. The weekend report. Here it goes:
Friday night I was exhausted. It was a rest day so you'd think I would have more energy but I had none. Fell asleep pretty close to after the kiddies were in bed.
Which really was a good thing because Saturday started with a 4:50 am pickup time with Training Buddy, that was a little more closer to 5 am because I accidentally set the alarm for pm, not am. Wishful thinking, I guess.
Somehow Training Buddy and I made it out to Lake Sumter Community College before anyone else and in record time. (Perhaps it was the extra adrenalin from running behind and jumping out of bed in a flash. Good thing I have a strong body clock...) A few moments later, everyone from the Team in Training Nike Women's Marathon team appeared and we began our morning torture, uhm, run. It was hill repeats. The TNT group is running their marathon in San Francisco, and coming from Florida that will definitely take some hill training. This is Florida so the only place to go for hills is Clermont. In our case, a neighborhood with a hill that is essentially a 60 degree incline, if not more. We warmed up in the parking lot, stretched, and ran 1.25 miles to the bottom of the hill. During the 1.25 mile run, I couldn't help but think that this really wasn't the morning for this.
But, once everyone arrived at the bottom, we started. 1/4 mile up and 1/4 mile down the evil incline. I made it 3/4 of the way up while running the 1st and 2nd time and then somehow tuned out my brain telling me this wasn't the thing to be doing 3rd time and made it to the top while running. I was thrilled but my HR was 182. Let's just say that while I ran all of the downhills this time around and that I did all 6 hills AND ran the 1.25 miles back to the car, I never quite made it back all the way up the hill.
Afterwards, it was party time. Training Buddy & I got back in the car, I drove like a mad woman, dropped him off, got home, showered and changed, and out the door by 9:15 am. Off to a 4 year old's birthday party at Monkey Joe's - a cute bounce house sort of place. The girls had a blast and I had to climb in with them a couple of times so they weren't scared at first. Mr. Darcy had nothing to do with climbing in, and I have to admit it was difficult for me to do because these things are built for kids not 5' 7" women (or 6'1" men in Mr. Darcy's case). After pizza, cake and a little more fun, we were off to Costco. After that Mr. Darcy decided to drive around a little so the girls would fall asleep in the car... and all 3 of us did. Ladybug, Angelfish and TriMommy. All sound asleep in our seats.
Sunday was another early morning, but luckily not as early. 5:30 am is better than 4:30 am. But I didn't get an icebath in on Saturday so I was stiff legged (and stiff butted) as Training Buddy and I started out on our 50 mile bike ride and what should have been a 6 mile run afterwards. The bike ended up at 51 miles and just a little over 3 hours. Yet again another Longest ride! Whoo Hoo!
The ride was good too because we had amazing animal sightings - a family of 3 deer crossing the street in front of us, 6 deer on the farmer's hill, other deer scattered about, 2 cranes, an animal that we thought might be a possum but really were not quite sure (other than it was bigger than my dog, brown and had a big tail and wasn't a racoon, ardvark or other known creature... kind of scary) - and some terrible headwinds. You know the head wind is strong when your computer says you're going 16.3 mph, the wind starts, and you notice that you're going 14.1 mph within moments. Add stiff legs to the mix and you have quite the workout.
When we got back to the house and started the run, my legs were not happy. I told Training Buddy that they were giving me attitude because it was literally as though they were saying to me, "Are you serious? You ran 6 miles of hills yesterday and had no ice bath, made us do 51 miles of cycling and now you expect us to run?"
I ran the 1st mile and then did a 4 minute/1 minute Galloway for the 2nd mile and then a 4 minute/2 minute Galloway the 3rd mile. My HR was staying down this time around which was good, but my legs were screaming everytime I did the running. Walking they could handle, and I could even walk at a decent pace, but running was torture. Training Buddy wanted to stop at the house for a refill on beverage, and when we stopped I realized that because we stopped I literally could not make myself restart and felt a little tingly (the lack of electrolytes...I'm pretty certain). So the 6 mile run turned into a 3.2 mile run. But it was better than nothing.
I did a lot better about drinking on the bike this time, but think I probably should have drunk a little more. I definitely need to take endurolytes because I have a feeling that's what I was missing - especially when my hands were swollen so badly that bending my knuckles was an optional activity for a bit. That and I probably need to eat more on the bike. I may try Training Buddy's suggestion of a PB&Honey sandwich during the ride because I really can't bring myself to eat more shot blocs or gels than I already do.
After a shower and an ice bath, things were closer to normal. Fingers were still swollen for another hour or two, but they were atleast functional again. Had lunch with the little ladies and played a bit, then we signed up for the YMCA and enrolled Angelfish and Ladybug for Fall soccer. This is gonna be good. Our cutie pies playing soccer. We asked that they be on the same team for our sanity in having only 1 practice a week and only 1 game to attend each weekend. They are both super excited and were "practicing" with Mr. Darcy in the backyard yesterday evening (while wearing dresses). I will be sure to post pictures once soccer begins. Our 3 year old phenoms (Angelfish already blocks out Ladybug for the ball). Tee hee.
Then a haircut for Ladybug, who when I told her that I thought her haircut looked beautiful told me in a rather self-assured way "I know Mommy. I look like a princess!" Angelfish wanted a haircut but hers is still growing out from the massive cutting that occured a few months ago and looks really good. She was trying to get it all over the place while telling us she needed it cut because she had "crazy hair." All she did was make her hair look even cuter! But the lollipop she got for waiting like a well-behaved girl at the Hair Cuttery smoothed things over. Then we played a bit and watched "Word World" (and somewhere I fell asleep only waking to discover the show was on but no one was in the room with me), practiced soccer and ate dinner. The girls played in the tub for awhile and then helped us bathe the dog before bed. How they laughed when Annie ran like the wind around the house and scratched at the floor and rubbed her head on the floor! They chased her and finally made her a bed with a blanket so she wouldn't be too cold since her hair was still wet (such sweetie pies).
They hadn't had a nap, so they were tired little things last night. Angelfish sat watching me read her story with her mouth hanging a little open like both she and I do when we're super tired. Ladybug yawned and laid on the bed listening after petting Annie a good while during the story. They were asleep within minutes of us turning off the light. And so were we! Mr. Darcy was tuckered out from the weekend and I was from all the training.
Monday morning was here all too soon. The girls are happy to be with their teachers one last week before they start with new teachers next week, and to be going to Disney with us on Friday. It is a half day at daycare as it is that day, so we decided to make it into a family fun day since our seasonal passes are back to being useable. I went for my next bit of blood work, which took a bit of waiting for but it got done within the right window of time. The doctor's office says it will take a week to get the results, which stinks. The waiting is the bit I don't like. My theory is that I will not have Cushings disease because while I have some of the symptoms, I also do not have some of the symptoms. But, let me tell you... I will feel much better once the doctor tells me that the blood work came back and all is well.
Training wise, today is a rest day. And I'm tired. For lunch, I may just take a nap!

Sleep? Who Needs Sleep?
Last night was a sleepless mess. I fell asleep on the sofa, exhausted, after the girls went to bed and at some point during "American Idol" - my guilty pleasure. There was no swim yesterday because, well, the day was insane and never quite let up (see yesterday's posts for some of the details). Somehow my brain at least remembered I needed to get a going away party for Ladybug's teacher as today is her last day and we will miss her terribly. I remembered on the way home from getting the girls from daycare, right as Mr. Darcy called and asked if I wanted to meet him up by Waterford Lakes for dinner... which happened to be right as we pulled in the driveway to the house.
So off we went. A drive filled with Ladybug insisting I turn the car around because she wanted to go home and didn't want to meet Daddy. While Angelfish told her, "No. Daddy will be lonely and sad. We go see him." But somehow seeing Daddy made Ladybug stop crying. I think Ladybug was just tired from not sleeping that well the night before due to her little accidents. Dinner had a couple trips to the bathroom for the little ladies... dry pants all around! Whoo Hoo! Then to the store where the girls asked if we could buy all sorts of silly things for Ladybug's teacher - a ball with wierd stuff on it that lit up when you bounce it, a jar with a fake worm in it, plastic worms, glow sticks, etc. In the end, Angelfish settled on little note cards that have a picture of a crown and say"You Rule" and Ladybug chose a little pot that will grow a pink zinnia flower, and we got a gift card from us. Then back home, time for bed for the girls, a temper tantrum for Ladybug, reading books, and finally into bed for the girls. By this time it was almost 9 pm. I couldn't keep my eyes open so I knew the swim was out. I fell asleep on the sofa before they announced the second person to be eliminated, shortly after KC and the Sunshine Band.
But then I woke up at 1 am thinking. Somehow I was able to fall back asleep until 2:12 am. And then it was impossible to go back to sleep. No matter what I tried, a million thoughts and feelings just kept running around in my brain. When I went to what time it was (around 3:30 am), Mr. Darcy elbowed me in the eye and that was it. I pretty much lost it - not yelling or crying, but my brain was definitely frazzled... I was at the point of complete and utter exhaustion. So, poor Mr. Darcy was now up and we had a conversation that we probably should have had anyway, but that has been avoided or just not made time for. One of those conversations about family workloads, things left unresolved, lack of communication and hurt feelings over things said and done. Conversations either previously started and aborted or avoided because you didn't want to argue, but unintentionally ended up festering in your subconcious.
No sleep for either of us until after the alarm went off at 5:30 am when I was supposed to have gotten up to go for a bike ride down at the airport. Around 6 am I called my coach and told her that my insomnia probably had not put me in a place to ride a bike on the open roads. Only then could I sleep. Essentially one hour until Ms. Ladybug greeted us - with dry underpants - and climbed in to bed with me until she realized she needed to pee and then wandered to the bathroom. Then she went to wake her sister. Angelfish also was dry and wandered to the bathroom to go potty. 2 girls with dry beds and dry underpants! YAY!
After we got the girls ready for school, I felt the fatigue set in. But I had Mr. Darcy help me set up the trainer - me doing the hard stuff and him watching to make sure I was doing it right, so I could learn. Then we got the girls in the car, calmed the crying Ladybug with kisses and hugs and promises to pick her up from school this afternoon (she wanted to stay home with Mommy today), and I hit the trainer for an hour. My bike computer is not working, so I can only guess at what I did - I did an hour thinking that would be about 15 miles since lately I've been averaging around 17-18 mph on the flats. Slower on the up hills and often much faster on the down hills.
I will do a 2 mile run either at lunch or this evening. I'm thinking lunch is my best bet... so I really need to make sure I take a lunch today. Perhaps my 2 mile run, a quick shower, and a quick nap? Oh, perchance to dream...
Saturday, Easter and a Small (Guilty) Spring Break
Before we get to Easter, I have to tell you about Saturday. Saturday... Google gives bad directions, but luckily I had the foresight to turn around at a certain point. Saturday morning, our children decided that they wanted to get up at 5 am. At least Ladybug did, and she then woke up her sister and then they wandered into our room to wake us up. This was supposed to be a morning that I got to "sleep in" because even with an hour drive to get to my training session I didn't have to be up until 6:15 am instead of my usual 5:30 am. Angelfish wanted to go back to sleep... Ladybug wanted breakfast. So, I got dressed and gave her breakfast and then laid on the sofa. She joined me for a few minutes until I needed to leave to get teammate Ryan on the way to training.
First set of Google directions, good. Got to Ryan's house (not far from ours) with no problems. Getting to Lake Louisa was a bit ... different. 2nd set of Google directions, bad. It was foggy for one, but the directions were wierd. It had us turn down a little side street and then another that had no signage so we had to guess to turn left where we did. Then it told us to turn onto Lake Louisa Road and make another left somewhere. Let's just say that does not take you to Lake Louisa State Park, although you do get a view of the lake as you drive by. Finally, I told Ryan I was turning around. He called Coach and told her we got a little lost but were on our way and she told us that we had just needed to keep going straight instead of turning where we did. (Thankfully we never saw what we thought was Missy's car turn onto Lake Louisa and after 15 minutes I decided that was good enough of a reason to turn around... that and we were seeing signs for other Lakes in the Clermont area. The spidey sense was tingling.) But there was a line to get into the park, so we ended up being "on time" anyway.
First was a lake swim followed by about a 20 mile bike ride. (Note to self remember to check on magnet for bike computer as it was acting wonkey Saturday - my favorite was when it said my cadence was zero but that I was going 20 mph on a downhill while I was pedaling my butt off. 2nd favorite - cadence of 25 while going 18 mph and pedaling to the point my quads were aching.) I have to say, I hate lakes. They smell, they are brown and your clothing is brown when you leave them and you smell. This time I was not frightened and was smart enough to realize that the water was very cold so I needed to acclimate by sinking down into the water slowly and getting my chest used to the temperature before I started to swim. The tight chest sensation was adverted this way, letting me swim as though I was in a disgusting swimming pool and letting me focus on the buoys. The buoys actually made me smile. They were little kids pool floats - fish primarily - anchored to the lake bottom. Brightly colored but small, made sighting pretty interesting. But, I seemed to do pretty well and swam pretty straight. I was able to pass people without too much effort during the 45 minute swim because they were not sticking close to the buoys like I was. But that was to my advantage because I was able to get on the bike before them.... which I need to do. 3 of them caught me (and these guys are fast on the bike, so I expected it), but not until the 2nd lap... and then I later learned that your aren't supposed to coast on the downhills but pedal so to use the momentum to help with the up hills and keep you going fast. So we will try it for next time. And I have vowed to go to Sports Authority at the very least (if I can't get out to a bike shop) this week and get a camelbak because I'm sure I'd do better on the bike if I was drinking something (yes, Coach if you're reading this, I know you are going to kill me. But, hey. I did well for not having any liquids until after I finished didn't I?). I'd really like to get to a bike shop though because I need Chamois Butter and a trainer too. I'd love to get that done before I leave on my work trip Wednesday because then I can ensure my ride on Thursday will get done if I have a trainer sitting in my house waiting for me since I'll be in Columbus, Ohio that morning when I normally do my ride. (Another note to self - check to see if the hotel has an indoor pool for my swim workout.)
But the Saturday workout was great. I felt pretty good while doing it all. The swim wasn't bad, and the bike was good - even with all of the hills and no Chamois Butter and no hydration. When I got home, my parents had gone out to the store so I gave the girls & Mr. Darcy kisses and jumped in the shower because I smelled like a dirty, wet goat. By the time I finished my parents were back and we started our visit.
Easter was very nice. No temper tantrums save 1 or 2 at the end of the day. Angelgish kept her underpants dry and even took herself to the potty without any assistance on one occasion. Ladybug had 2 accidents, but it was better than the 5 the day before.
The night before the Easter bunny and her crew put together Easter baskets and put out the eggs for the egg hunt (courtesy of Nanna and Poppop). The girls got up on Easter around 7 am, but Nanna read them stories and took them to use the potty before we even knew that anyone was up when I woke up around 7:30 am. I was tired. The egg hunt was great and the girls loved their stickers, erasers and what not. Then breakfast and artwork, reading books, eating homemade chocolates from Nanna and playing afterwards. A walk with the family stopping to throw the frisbee around before walking to the pool where the girls put their feet in and we wandered around talking to other people at the pool (the girls were chatty) and then back to the house. Ham, potatoes, green beans, and Mango key lime pie for dinner. Parents left to head back home; we tried to get the girls down for nap and Mommy fell asleep to the point that I slept for 2 hours or so. Then we went back to the pool and the girls swam and we helped them swim. Back home for ham sandwiches for "dinner." Then off to bed for the girls. I laid in bed reading my Triathlete magazine and feeling a bit guilty for not running my 4 miles (thus the spring break) that Sunday. I even contemplated running it this morning despite having swim practice this evening. But then I realized I needed to focus on work and my blog entry and just chaulk it up to needing the sleep more than the run yesterday.
But I'm still feeling guilty about it. I just have to make sure I get in all my workouts this week so the guilt of not running the 4 miles will subside. I know I needed that nap - I never nap - but I probably needed the 4 mile run to mitigate all the food I ate (including that 1 beer I had). It is what it is and there are only so many hours in the day. I will regroup and focus.
So, I'm off to work.

Tired Swimmer
Note to self: it is not beneficial for training to stay up until 11 pm when your swim workout is around 7 am... aka you need to be up and eating breakfast around 5:30 am. I didn't quite make the 5:30 am wake up. I was, however, up and eating by 5:50 am. And it is now that I am questioning my sanity. Why ever did I think it would be ok if I kept reading?
The swim itself was good, but now I am tuckered out and am only on my lunch break before my conference call starts. A nap would be in order, but I'm all out of luck on that one. Not to mention that tomorrow is Valentine's Party Day at daycare and we have to bring cookies, valentines and pullups into school (pullups just for our munchkins), which means I can't sneak a short nap in before picking up the girls at daycare either because, well, I forgot to buy the cookies and pullups when I was at the grocery yesterday. As Angelfish said yesterday "You crazy Mommy Kate!" (I was being rather silly at the time.)
Swimming was good. One of the drills was to breathe every 5 strokes... evidently, I need more lung capacity because it was hard. The irony is that occasionally I will swim part of a lap breathing every 5 just because I feel like it, but when I had to do it the breathing was a bit painful. But then I could return to breathing every 3 or 4 like usual and I was a happy little fish. Better lung capacity would be awesome. I actually have wished I had gills before because then I'd never have to worry about running into the wall when I lose track of how fast I'm going and when I am almost at the wall. It doesn't happen often, but I do sometime breathe a little too close to the wall and then think I have room for a few more strokes and bam my arm smacks the side of the pool. Not the brightest, but so it is. But the sound of the water and the pattern of breathing was definitely peacefully intoxicating this morning. Stress, what stress? At least until I get back to the house to start my work day (I work from home) and I see all the laundry I failed to fold!
Oh and yes, the hunger continues as does the eating. Although I will say that I did not wake up ravenous this morning like I have in mornings past. Perhaps it was all that food I ate yesterday! But like clockwork, after my "2nd breakfast" as I like to call it, 3 hours later I was hungry again. And now, creeping up on 2 1/2 hours later, I can feel the hunger coming on again. I guess that's why I'm supposed to eat all this stuff! Luckily it's all pretty healthy, although if anyone has ideas on how to get the right number of calories while eating eggs without as much fat in them, please let me know! The egg beaters would be great, but there's hardly any calories in them and I'm not quite in the mood for eating 2 cartons to make up for it.
